Meet the Authors

Isaiah Taylor

Hi,
I'm Isaiah Taylor. I'm 14 and I am a politician, an economist, a blogger, a computer programmer, and a pyro. I also like sports and weight lifting. One thing I don't do is TV (that includes video games). I am active in the prolife side of things. When I write, I try to keep it simple so that ordinary people like me can read it.
That's another thing. Educating the public. I'm fed up with this lax culture. Half the time I say something political to my friends, they respond, "you know what, I don't give a crap" to which I respond, "Why would you do that? I'm talking about Obamacare!." Then I explain it more clearly.

Is that enough rambling?

OK, Riley's turn.

Riley Dunn

Hi,
I'm Riley Dunn

I represent the libertarian side of The Washington Critique. My idea of government is that it provides the rights of life, liberty, and property. I am 15 years old and into economics, politics, and philosophy.

  1. Hello, I found the link that Leigh Bortins (of Classical Conversations) posted on her blog; and just read through your posts. You are an excellent example to your generation of what hard work and ethics can accomplish. Keep your faith in God young man! You are setting the bar high for many in your generation.

As a mother to 5 children adopted from Ethiopia, its always beneficial for me to ponder the entitlement ideology here in America. Knowing personally how my children highly valued education upon coming to America, it bewilders me to see such a lazy approach to learning. We truly are privileged to have the opportunity for such great learning.

I will be passing your blog onto my children!

    1. Mrs. Taylor,

Thank you for your encouragement! I can understand your surprise of our education-hating culture in contrast to your children. We just have no idea how truly privileged we are in this amazing miracle of a country.

However, the country is only amazing while its people are. While I thank you for your compliments, it is almost discouraging to know that I am someone speccial. You have to look hard to find a young person who actually understands something past how to beat Call of Duty.

That's one of the reasons why I do this. To show people what they are depriving their children of by sending them to public school.

So while I may be setting the bar high, there is little chance I will motivate teenagers. The culture will always be there, reminding them not feel pressured to achieve it.

But, that won't happen to everyone (like me and my friends), so I'll keep fighting!

      Thanks for your input!
